Description

Sandstone slab from a vault in the churchyard, commemorating the white lead manufacturer John Picard (1722-1801) and his wife Sarah (1723-86); their son John Kirkby Picard (1766-1843), barrister and Deputy Judge of the Court of Record, and his wife Elizabeth, née Haworth (1768-1839), and infant great-grand-daughter Jane Elizabeth Georgiana (1821-22). There are patches of surface damage, but the inscription is clear and legible.

the 11 day of October 1786 aged 63 Years
And of the above JOHN PICARD who died
Oct:r 16:th 1801, Aged 79 Years.

Also
of JANE ELIZABETH GEORGIANA PICARD
their great grand child who died
18:th March 1822, aged ten Months

And of ELIZABETH Wife of
JOHN KIRKBY PICARD,
Barrister at Law, and Deputy Judge
of the Court of Record of this Borough
who died on the 24:th day of April 1839
Aged 71 Years.

Also of the above named
JOHN KIRKBY PICARD,
who died on the 5:th day of July 1843
Aged 77 Years.
