Jug

Catalogue ID: 727

Description

Remarkably preserved, this glass jug dates to the 1860s. Why and how this jug was deposited in the graveyard is unclear, but there are a few possibilities including watering graveside plants, holding a burial libation of some kind, or perhaps as a symbol of a person's occupation in life.
