Description

A broken piece of sandstone headstone, similar in style to the Hawksworth family stone, commemorating Mary, née Hick (1796-1827), wife of master mariner John Martin, who died aged 31 in 1827. The word 'Sacred' is inscribed in a Gothc Revival script. There is a pious verse inscription. The couple had married at Holy Trinity on 13 August 1815.
