Floor Slab – John & Frances Susannah Booth, Jane Hardy, Frances Watson, Ann & Benjamin Haworth, John Booth Haworth, & John & Susanna Eddie
Description
Stone vault-slab, previously outside in the Churchyard, reset in the South Porch in 2022. It commemorates Alderman John Booth and his wife Frances Susannah (née Hardy), her sister Jane Hardy (bap. 7 Feb. 1713/14, South Somercotes, bur. 16 May 1779 at Holy Trinity). Frances Susannah Watson, widow of Charles Horsley Watson, is a daughter of the Booths. Another daughter, Ann, is with her husband Benjamin Haworth of Newland and their son, John Booth Haworth. Susanna Eddie (née Crosby), commemorated with her husband John, is a niece of Mrs Booth and Miss Hardy, as her mother was another of their sisters, Alice Crosby, née Hardy (bap. 1712, South Somercotes, Lincs.).
Frances Susannah Hardy (bap. South Somercotes 9 March 1710/11) had married John Booth at Utterby, Lincs., on 22 March 1734.
